Origins
The hotel has been open for 13 years and aims to provide an intimate and relaxed stay where you can recharge, enjoy the luxurious surroundings and experience authentic Thai culture. They aim to make the stay special with a more personal and tailored offering than the larger hotels can.
Top Secret
Aleenta has a sister hotel a 10-minute walk along the beach, Akira, which guests can also use all the facilities of including a beach bar and a variety of activities such as private surf or bodyboarding lessons.
The Review
This hotel was just wonderful, everything had been thought through and had a personal feel, from the activities they offer you during your stay which were completely tailored to you and what you wanted from your trip to the freshly made aloe vera they left in your room if one of the staff members noticed you might be a little pink on the shoulders – bliss! All but 8 of the rooms have their own private pools, ours was designed with privacy in mind and perfect for a romantic getaway (others look out onto the beach with amazing views but less privacy).
Every staff member wanted to ensure you had the best stay possible and did anything they could to make that happen, but not in a pushy way, talking to staff was like talking to friends.
Having a glass of chilled white wine in there all day restaurant looking out across the beach was unbeatable, as was the number of other things you could fill your day with: We were taken on a tour around the local area for half a day, this included visiting two temples, a breath-taking waterfall and a turtle sanctuary which will almost certainly leave you wanting to adopt one. It was the perfect way to spend a morning. We also had a private bodyboarding/surf lesson and once again felt like the only place our teacher wanted to be was right there teaching us!
The food was delicious, the all-day menu had a healthy but tempting theme with a few guilty pleasures. The Asian restaurant in the evening had a great atmosphere and the food couldn’t be faulted – I wanted to order one of everything but managed to stick to just the three courses (also, the wine was the best I had whilst I was in Thailand). There is also an Italian/South American restaurant which looked delicious but we didn’t get to try.
Overall I didn’t want to leave and will be going back.
