Origins
The Adler is the oldest hotel in Ischgl and has been owned by the Kurz family since 1888. Despite extensive renovations and extensions, a huge amount of respect has been given to the rich history.
The hotel’s success in tempting back their guests has been a justified reward for their efforts to create a place of relaxation and joy.
Top Secret
• The very beautiful ‘Richterstube’ which dates back to the 18th century and is the oldest public room in Ischgl.
• Ischgl has become an exciting resort for summer vacations with stunning walks, mountain air and extensive biking tracks… and did we mention the world-famous Alpine winter sports?!
The Review
Driving up the Paznauen valley after a short drive from Innsbruck airport lies Ischgl with its vast ski area and opportunity to cross the border into Switzerland and the duty free village of Samnaun. Ski lifts remain open in Summer allowing walkers to enjoy the same pleasure and are free of charge for hotel guests.
Summer guests can access the Silvretta High Alpine Road which has justifiably been called ‘the dream road in the Alps for aficionados”.
The Goldener Adler boutique hotel is less a hotel and more a ‘home away from home’. There is nothing artificial or pretentious about the place. Carefully restored antiques which have been collected over centuries have been lovingly integrated into the hotel’s design making the Goldener Adler truly special and unique.
The service in the hotel is friendly and attentive and the food in the restaurant is second to none.
For winter guests, Ischgl boasts 258 km of prepared pistes between 1,400 m and 3,000 m above sea level as well as the largest freestyle fun park in the Alps. In Summer, guests can choose wonderful walks with the hotel’s own guide whose knowledge of the area ensures a safe and relaxing day.
The Kurz’s aim of making the Goldener Adler ‘a place to remember’ is most certainly achieved in this truly unique, family-oriented, delightful and charming hotel. We will definitely be returning!
