Origins
Le Ali del Frassino is a historic villa from the early 20th century featuring original lemon houses and annexes which are now the five charming eco-friendly buildings making up the resort. Le Ali del Frassino is set within 70,000 square meters of unspoilt vegetation overlooking Lake Frassino and surrounded by local vineyards boasting some of Northern Italy’s best organic grapes.

Take a drive up the west-side of Lake Garda for historic cliffside vistas, a dip in the sparkingly clean lake and a stroll around the botanic gardens at the Andre Heller sculpture park – think Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Haring.

The Review
Le Ali is the place to come if you want to unwind, indulge and explore. Unwind by the luxurious swimming pools, indulge in sampling some of Northern Italy’s best cuisine and wines and explore Lake Garda with its picture-perfect views and romantic villages.
The resort is set on Lake Frassino and all rooms have charming views of the lake, its surrounding parklands and local vineyards. The rooms themselves are sensitively designed, differ in style and décor with nice original touches such as wooden beams and original antique furniture. Modern amenities include rainforest showers, the most comfortable beds you could dream of and separate sitting rooms with flatscreen televisions. Our suite benefited from a beautiful balcony, a private sauna and a hot tub and we were treated to a complimentary bottle of local Lugana wine made from the hotel’s own vines.
Once you finish relaxing by the pool, you may wish to visit local Peschiera del Garda – a Unesco world heritage site known for its fortress, external fortifications, world-class restaurants and boutiques. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service running three times a day.
Le Ali has two fabulous restaurants. The first – Ardea Purpurea – is located on the terrace and is the resort’s main eating establishment. The menu includes such dishes as pumpkin tortelloni with butter and sage and lobster linguine. The second, aptly named Il Tuffetto or ‘go for a dip’ is there for laid-back poolside dining, cocktails and of course the all-essential sun-downer.
The hotel calls itself ‘The Nature’s way Resort’ – and we call it the natural pick for Garda and the surrounding region.
