The Historic Peninsula
Luang Prabang is small and walkable, but where you stay still shapes the trip. The historic peninsula, between the two rivers, puts you in the thick of the temples, markets and morning alms; a little outside the centre, gardens and quiet take over. Our two properties sit one in each camp.
The peninsula is the heart of Luang Prabang — the UNESCO old town, where the temples, the night market, the cafes and the dawn alms ceremony are all within a short walk, framed by the Nam Khan on one side and the Mekong on the other. To stay here is to be in the middle of it all. On the quieter Nam Khan side, Burasari Heritage is an intimate 23-room hotel in a restored French-Lao colonial house of teak and antiques, steps from the temples, with a well-regarded riverside spa and a vintage-Mercedes airport transfer.
