Aleenta Phuket – Phang Nga opened in 2005 on Natai Beach, a long, quiet stretch of sand on the mainland just north of Phuket, in Phang Nga province. Despite the name, it is not on Phuket island but a short drive north of the airport, on a coast that has stayed largely undeveloped, which is much of the point: the resort was built as an intimate, personal alternative to the big Phuket hotels, on a beach where you might have the sand to yourself.
The concept is "all suites, all private". Every one of its rooms is a suite or villa, spread across eleven categories from ocean-view lofts to four-bedroom beachfront villas, and nearly all have their own private pool, wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass under an "outside living in" design that dissolves the line between room and terrace. Two things set the resort apart beyond the rooms. The first is Ayurah, its wellness centre, which runs genuinely serious, medically-informed retreats, detox, sleep, weight, hormones, burnout, alongside daily complimentary yoga and sound baths for all guests. The second is a real environmental ethos: Aleenta is a founding member of a marine conservation foundation and has been free of single-use plastic since 2018. Part of an independent Thai group, with plant-based and beachfront dining and a notably good wine list, it is a quiet, grown-up, wellness-minded beach resort rather than a party one.

The arrival sets the tone: there is no check-in desk. Guests are met at an open-air lounge above the beach with a chilled butterfly-pea flower drink and a cool, scented towel, luggage spirited away, formalities done from a sofa facing the sea.

Aleenta Phuket – Phang Nga is a quiet, wellness-minded beach resort that trades Phuket's crowds for a long, near-empty stretch of mainland sand. Despite the name it sits not on Phuket island but on Natai Beach in Phang Nga, about half an hour north of the airport, on a coast that has stayed undeveloped, and that seclusion is the whole appeal.
The resort works to an "all suites, all private" concept: every one of its rooms, around 67 across eleven categories, is a suite or villa, and all but a handful have their own private pool, designed with floor-to-ceiling glass and indoor-outdoor living so the beach and sky are always present. They run from 80-square-metre ocean-view lofts to sprawling four-bedroom beachfront villas, the beachfront categories opening straight onto the sand, the others trading a little of that for more privacy. It is polished, calm and adult in feel, and a personal, tailored style of service, activities arranged around what you actually want, aloe left out if you have caught the sun, is what guests remember most.
The two real distinctions are wellness and conscience. Ayurah, the spa and wellness centre, runs medically-led retreat programmes, detox, sleep, weight, hormone and burnout among them, with daily yoga and sound baths free to all guests, well beyond the usual resort spa. A few honest points. This is a remote, quiet resort, so it suits those who want to settle in rather than explore; there is little within walking distance, and the sea can be rough in the monsoon months around July to October. Some room categories take children over 12 only, so families should check. But for a calm, design-led, genuinely wellness-focused beach escape with your own pool, well away from the crowds, Aleenta is among the most appealing places to stay near Phuket.
