Across the lake from Peschiera, the eastern hills rise towards Verona: vineyards, olive groves, and the former Habsburg defensive line that once protected Austrian Lombardy until 1866. Relais Forte Benedek is an adults-only countryside relais in Pastrengo, set beside the 1861 Austrian fortress from which it takes its name. Sixteen suites and junior suites, each featuring a private steam bath with chromotherapy, with selected suites also offering private jacuzzis, are immersed within over seventy thousand square metres of olive groves and vineyards overlooking Lake Garda
