World renowned design practice Hassell is the mastermind behind this captivating hotel. The property once served as a woolshed dating back to 1915 and the structure it is built on is the longest timbered-piled wharf in the world. Through each of its design phases, the woolshed skeleton has remained and today’s composition is its best design match yet.

At Ovolo Woolloomooloo, you could be arriving at one of Hollywood’s glamorous movie sets. This impression set off by the colossal wool shed structure, combined with modern day luxe. At check-in the experience begins, with positively happy people greeting you. The 20-million-dollar refurbishment has lifted the property to a 5 star standard however it is not for the conventional guest. If you like to think outside the box – Ovolo Woolloomooloo is for you.
The slick accommodation suites are individually decorated and feature cleverly selected art installations. The beds and pillows are a win in their high comfort levels. The hotel is a mix of grand, industrial, historical and pretty. Views over the Woolloomooloo pier and selection of high-end dining options make the location a great match for the discerning guest.
The café-bar area of the property dazzles with ‘life like’ autumn trees lit with fairy lights. All-inclusive breakfast is delicious with a selection of home baked breads and pastries along with seasonal fruits. If you feel like dining in at night and soaking up the ambience, an impressive wine list and lounge style menu will impress.
The art conveys stories of Australia - woolshed history, through to carefully selected foyer music. A neon light “I need you tonight” pops in the INXS themed split-level suite. Comical displays invoke cheer such as “exercise sounds like extra fries”. The property is spacious and filled with natural light from the sky lit roof.
