Origins

The Vintage Hotel & Spa has been totally refurbished by Bomporto Hotels (also owners of sister hotel Lumiares), they sought to redefine ‘vintage’ in a contemporary way, adopting designs from a generation of architects and designers from the mid-century up to the present day. The Vintage draws on the past to inspire the future and delivers a truly signature look.

Top Secret

Continuously surprised by the hotel's handpicked selection of curated amenities, art, design details, cocktails, menu… just everything. Without realizing what hit me the atmosphere wrapped me into an elevated state of relaxed calm.

The Review

The delightful surprises started from the moment I pulled up to the entrance of The Vintage Hotel. The hotel has a tidy but minimal and unassuming entrance. The welcome mat reads INSPIRE RELAX PLAY which already triggers the imagination.  Straight after entering the atmosphere begins to seep in. The open layout, high ceilings, bright natural light filtering in, the deep invigorating colour pallet, the giant round gold frame mirror, the playful yet tasteful vintage pieces, the angles, the materials and a soft discerning scent.

The harmony and friendliness of the design coupled with the kind essence of the staff give a welcoming warmth.

Entering the suite….dreamy. The separate living area with a large open-able window, neatly draped in lush dark green, overlooks the city and ocean beyond.  Tasteful vintage style furniture and art pieces. Harmony, balanced, natural materials with spacious uncluttered surfaces allow for calm clarity. This theme is continuous throughout the entire hotel. The expansiveness of the suite by physical layout, use of design space, angles of doorways, light fixtures, selection of local artists, all details felt well thought out and aligned harmoniously.

A vintage rolling bar cart offered a complimentary ‘gin & tonic set’, with specially selected local ingredients. Thoughtful touch. Guests are encouraged to bring their drinks to enjoy on the rooftop lounge.

Venturing out to the surrounding area that evening brought more nice surprises. A  short walk from the hotel is one of the best streets in Lisbon for food, drinks,  atmosphere and nice crowds. The location is super convenient and central yet offers just enough space from the bustling more crowded or touristy areas of the city.

I was lucky enough to catch a yoga class offered by an incredible local teacher, a  beautiful class and space and a little gift to take away. Breakfast food was beyond fresh and the coffee just wow. There are endless surprises and details, not all meet the eye, many are discreetly unmarked.

After a 2 night stay, I felt relaxed and rejuvenated!
