The owner Martin has travelled extensively around Cape Town where he fell in love with the native lifestyle and exotic surroundings. Bringing with him numerous decorative objects and photographs, he has decided to convert his boutique hotel into something of an African retreat so that guests could relax within memories.

The Review
The wonderful two-hour train journey from Prague to Frystak is an adventure in itself with spectacular views of verdurous forests and sunlit sunflower valleys. Arriving at Villa Memories feels like an authentic homecoming for the weary traveller. One feels ready to slough off his pitiful city skin and nestle up against the walls of this extraordinary villa characterised by an abundance of wooden features and neo-colonial flair.
In this warm atmosphere, made warmer by the owner and his staff who are treated by him like family, one can immerse themselves in the serenity of Villa Memories’s interiors which are lined with books, photographs, exotic lamps, leather furnishings, hand-woven carpets and African artefacts all brought back by the owner from South Africa. In fact, the owner’s passion for Africa has been realised within the singular interior design. Each individual boutique suite represents a different African beast. Zebra, Wolf, Leopard… there’s no mistaking which suite you are in thanks to the animal print vinyl wallpaper.
The highlight of the hotel is undoubtedly the luxurious private spa which features a heated swimming pool with a counter-current and artificial waves feature as well as a herbal spa that comes as a lovely evening complement today outdoors within the Czech countryside’s potent fresh air.
The great outdoors is where the adventure can really begin with spacious entertaining areas for family functions complete with a garden barbeque, loungers, rockers and even a trampoline and sandpit for the kids. If pure relaxation is what you seek, try the garden relaxation studio where you can choose from a wide range of massages with the magic of complete privacy enhanced by unbridled open-air freedom.
