We Love

  • A private heated pool with every key — from the snug Lounge Suite to the three-bedroom villa sleeping six, each house gets its own water, its own gated terrace and its own slice of the Aegean.
  • The Megali Ammos position — the beach one minute below, the Windmills and Little Venice in view from the pool deck, and Chora's restaurants and alleys a few minutes' walk along the coast.
  • Breakfast wherever you want it — included, and served anywhere in your villa: the terrace, the daybed, or floating beside you in the pool.
  • The service — 24-hour concierge, housekeeping twice a day, a private chef who brings the kitchen to your terrace, and tables charmed out of Chora's hardest bookings.
  • Built for groups and families — the houses interconnect into two- and three-bedroom set-ups with multiple pools, and infants are welcomed almost everywhere: rare on this island.

Origins

Bonzoe opened in 2022 on the slope above Megali Ammos, the small sand-and-pebble bay immediately south of Mykonos Town — close enough that you walk to Little Venice along the shore, far enough that the only night noise is the Aegean. The developers are Mykonians, and it shows in the brief: not a hotel, not a rental, but seven cube-white houses run as one — the island's vernacular of whitewash, timber shutters and shaded pergolas outside, contemporary comfort within, and a private heated pool behind every gate.

The complex works a simple equation. Each house keeps the privacy of a villa — gated terrace, alfresco dining, full kitchenette, your own water — while the service runs at hotel pitch: 24-hour concierge and front desk, housekeeping twice a day, breakfast included and delivered wherever in the villa you happen to be, a private chef who arrives with his own brigade for the nights you stay in. The seven houses combine into eleven bookable shapes, interconnecting up to three bedrooms and multiple pools for groups of six — and, almost uniquely for Mykonos, infants are welcome nearly everywhere, in a market that defaults to adults-only.

The position completes it. The pool decks look across to the Kato Mili — the windmills that are the island's signature — with Little Venice below them and the open Aegean beyond; the beach is a minute's walk down, Chora a few minutes more, and the open-air gym does its work with the windmills as the backdrop. Mykonos rarely lets you have the town, the beach and the quiet at once. This slope is one of the few places it does.

Top Secret

Ask the desk about Fokos — the horseshoe bay on the island's empty north, no beach club, no sunbeds, no fee, just water. Go with a picnic from your kitchenette. And take breakfast in the pool at least once: it is included, it is served anywhere in the villa, and the floating tray with the windmill view is the photograph everyone takes home.

The Review

Arrival is a small decompression. Ten minutes from the airport, the gate closes behind you, and Mykonos — the queues, the scooters, the beach-club bass — drops away into a terrace, a pool of your own, and the windmills turning slowly across the bay. The houses are cubes of whitewash and timber in the island's oldest style, kept deliberately spare inside: muted tones, natural materials, Egyptian cotton, rainfall showers, a kitchenette that means you never have to leave for coffee.

Days build themselves around the water. Yours first — every house has its own heated pool, swimmable in the shoulder months when the sea still bites — then Megali Ammos a minute below, quieter than the southern beach-club circuit and walkable home. Chora is the evening: along the coast path to Little Venice for the sunset crowd, the alleys behind for dinner, and the climb home settled by the house van if the night ran long. The concierge earns its keep here — the hard tables in town, boats to Delos and the sister islands, a chef and his team on your terrace when you would rather host than book.

What the reviews keep repeating is true: the service is the luxury. Staff who learn names on day one, housekeeping that passes twice daily and leaves no trace, breakfast that follows you around the villa. There is no restaurant, no bar, no spa — by design — and for the right traveller that absence is the point: the villa is the venue, the island is the amenity, and the team exists to deliver both to your sunlounger. Families get the rarest thing on the island, a luxury address that wants their children; couples get the Honeymoon Villa's 176-square-metre terrace; groups get three bedrooms, two pools and one gate. Mykonos without the madness, five minutes from all of it.
