If you fancy a secluded afternoon in wilderness, ask Ivo to take you in one of the many untouched bays of the island – it will feel like time stops!
The Review
The 15-minute drive from the Port of Sobra, where the Catamaran drops you off, to Saplunara, the old-fishing town in which Pine Tree Boutique Apartments is situated, will have you stunned as you discover the untouched coastline of the Island of Mljet.
Such impressive views will mark your stay as every apartment has a perfect sea-view overlooking the pristine, glistening bay.
At Pine Tree Boutique Apartments, you will experience a highly-personalised retreat in a homely and relaxed little patch of paradise thanks to the friendly owners Ana and Ivo. Couples, families, pets are all catered to. The tranquility of the adjacent beach, the only sand beach of the island, is breath-taking. Almost lost in the wilderness is the lagoon, only a short walk from the apartments, where you can enjoy some more secluded beach time, where you will only be disturbed by the soothing sound of the crickets.
The island is home to many natural marvels including its national park that can be visited on electric bikes for a revitalising afternoon or the mythological Odysseus Cave where the hero was supposedly trapped for seven years by Calypso, the temptress.
The owners of the boutique property proudly boast Ante’s Place, a locally-famous Konoba, a traditional Croatian restaurant. Although each apartment is fully equipped with any kitchenware you will need, with its stunning view, its exquisitely fresh food and its delectable wines, the Konoba will probably have you over more than once. Accompanied with the tastiest selection of Josper-grilled vegetable, daily caught fish is served on sharing wooden platters and cut in front of the guest in order to preserve its mouth-watering flavours.
