L'Horizon Hotel started out in 1952 as a Hollywood executive's private retreat to allow his famous friends to relax in style, and has seen visits by Betty Grable, Marilyn Monroe, and Presidents Reagan and Nixon. In 2014, the hotel was renovated by Steve Hermann, architect for the West Coast elite.

Recently renovated by architect Steve Hermann, the hotel's rooms are spacious and open, with sleek wood and glass finishes, warm mood lighting from vintage exposed-filament bulbs, and deep, soft beds. With its own private entrance set among palm trees and giant flowering cacti, each bungalow is a relaxing, insulating, cocoon.
The retro charm continues into the hotel grounds, carefully manicured to embrace the Californian desert. Guests lounging in the shade of the cabana can order drinks from the poolside bar, enjoy complimentary hand and foot massages, or simply marvel at the backdrop of the nearby San Jacinto mountains disappearing into the sky. Floating in the pristine, cool pool at dusk under the palm trees brings a whole new level of indulgence.
