The Review
The adventure begins when you first enter Madikwe; an exclusive malaria-free game reserve that is not open to the general public unless you are lucky enough to be staying in one of the few lodges. Rest assured you won't see crowds of tourists here; its super exclusive.
Rhulani means 'relax' which is how you will feel from the moment you arrive just in time for an afternoon game drive with one of the expert and friendly rangers. No detail has been overlooked here; from the blankets to keep you warm if it gets nippy to the sundowners and biltong as the sun sets over the horizon.
Returning back to the lodge, you will be greeted with a glass of sherry to enjoy before supper by the fire. Each night, a scrumptious three course meal is served accompanied by a glass of wine chosen from an extensive and varied wine list. Retire to your private chalet where you can cosy up by a roaring fire before an excellent night’s sleep in a four-poster bed.
Wake up bright and early for the morning game drive; enjoying a hot chocolate as the sun rises and Madikwe comes alive. Your ranger will be sure to find the daily 'hot-spots'; be it baby elephants crossing the road, the extremely rare wild dogs or, if you're really lucky, a leopard hiding in the trees. It's not just the animals that will make the game drives so special; the scenery at Madikwe is enchanting; from natural amphitheaters to endless plains. Arriving back at Rhulani, you'll be ready for the delicious breakfast that awaits.
In between morning and evening game drives, it's time for rest and relaxation. Take a dip in your private plunge pool or sit by the swimming pool that overlooks the watering-hole where impala and zebra come to drink. You can also take advantage of an extensive spa menu or simply have a rest or sunbathe on your chalet's veranda. Before heading off for your afternoon game drive, high tea will be served on Rhulani's terrace.
Rhulani is the only way to have a truly luxurious but also genuine South African Safari experience. You'd be crazy to leave this off your itinerary.
