Origins
Two Italians, Marina Guarena and Giuliano Brugnatelli, met in Morocco and founded a Riad in the heart of old Marrakech that keeps true to their roots. Marina has a flare for decorating and found chic furniture and material from throughout Italy and Morocco, giving the Riad it’s distinct design.
Top Secret
The hotel serves a selection of striking Morocco wines at remarkably fair prices, watch out for a flavoursome dry Moroccan white Volubilia Blanc!
The Review
In the heart of one of the most bustling, ancient, and wild cities in the world, two Italians have created an oasis. Stepping into the Riad Kherredine transports you into a romantic idyll. The peaceful sound of running water, flowers everywhere, and tasteful Italian fabrics create a world so calm and luxurious it is nearly impossible to leave.
Guests are driven from Marrakech airport to the walls of the Old Medina, where a guide carries your bags through the area’s unpredictable winding streets. From start to finish, everything here is taken care of. This is a Riad that knows how to pamper.
After being treated to a fine breakfast spread, guests are led up to the mezzanine overlooking a peaceful courtyard filled with lush foliage. The rooms within are romantically ornate, furnished with Moroccan furniture, spectacularly decorated with plush fabrics and cushions, and scattered with fresh rose petals. These are truly lavish, colourful, luxurious boudoirs.
Guests lie on the roof in deep tranquillity. The local homes surrounding bustle with life, people watching paradise. Every way of lounging is catered for, with sunbeds, a shady pergola, and supple sofas. One of their several course Moroccan-Italian feasts, accompanied by scrumptious Moroccan wines.
Although it can be hard to drag oneself from the lap of luxury, the adventurous will not be disappointed. Sprawling alleys are filled with cheeky children and charismatic stall holders. Only a handful Riads are so centrally placed. The staff here are all local experts, and will hold your hand through the energetic streets. Charmingly, they lend you a personal phone to call them if you’re lost or want information.
A stay here will leave you feeling profoundly relaxed. This is a place for indulgence within the safe walls of a beautifully designed home. Bliss.
