Origins
Staying true to Steve Irwin, the much loved Australian Crocodile Hunter’s vision, his conservation ethos is very evident here - from carefully chosen native plantings to the construction of eco-lodges made from upcycled timber sourced from the very grandstand he built with his own hands at the original Australia Zoo Crocoseum.
Top Secret
Hang about the dazzling blue infinity pool between 3-4pm for the best chance to spot the cutest koalas awake from their 18-20hr slumber and clamber along the branches for some tucker. An enchanting “pinch me” moment with nature.
The Review
Anticipation mounts as you leave the busy highway and meander through the bushy vista to arrive at your destination. Greeted by lively sounds of the bush and Kookaburra calls and breathing the pure fresh air it really feels like you’re entering into relaxation mode. Keep your wits about you though as you never know what wildlife you’re going to encounter next, from enchanting snakes lazing in reception to the emus, kangaroos and koalas hopping about in front of the pool.
Drive-up access to your eco luxe cabin makes settling in easy and the temperature controlled interior and nearly 360 degree views of bush with ample large windows to really take it all in are a welcome start to an amazing stay. Featuring a private deck offering the perfect position for a luxuriant sunset and the bush chorus really amping up we recommend popping your complimentary robe on and soaking up the moment with a chilled glass of wine on the loungers.
As evening falls meander your way through the trees to the Warrior restaurant and bar on site, for some carefully curated cocktails paired with rustic Australian modern cuisine. Be adventurous and try inventive dishes featuring native ingredients you may have never heard of before - you won’t regret it.
Having this welcome oasis to return to after an exciting but tiring day of walking around the Australia Zoo really enhances the Zoo experience all the more. With a family friendly atmosphere and lovely staff - dressed on theme in their khakis and always with a ready smile - why would you do your zoo experience any differently!?
